Hi, I’m Brodie Milne. I’m passionate about helping businesses like yours grow smarter and faster. I’ve spent the last 20 years driving growth for companies ranging from lean startups to large firms. Now, I bring that experience to you as a fractional CMO – delivering big-strategy results on an agile, flexible basis.

I’m very fortunate to be the current CMO for Arrowquip, an international brand that has revolutionized its industry. From my nearly 10 years being their CMO I’ve been able to work with hundreds of small businesses all across North America, Europe, and the United Kingdom - helping them achieve their dreams of being successful business owners. It’s my dream to take the experience I’ve gained growing both large international and small businesses and apply that to other small, medium, and large businesses, helping them achieve their dreams like I’ve achieved mine. That’s how this website and humbling Fractional CMO adventure came to be.

Where it all Started: I started my career working at the National Post, and it’s there I saw the value of full circle marketing. It was there that I got to work with millions of dollars in free print marketing as well as contra marketing dollars in radio and billboards, shaping narratives that grew our online and social presence. It was this experience that led me to a local marketing firm where I oversaw major clients’ advertising spends, built their digital and social presence, and learned that successful marketing only comes from hard work and dedication to the craft. Over the years, I led marketing and sales teams, launched products, and managed campaigns with budgets from shoestring to seven figures. It’s that experience that helped me grow Arrowquip’s revenue from $20M in 2016 to over $100M in just three short years.

What Motivates Me: After years in the corporate world, I noticed a pattern - so many small and mid-sized companies struggle because they lack the strategic marketing leadership that bigger companies have. I founded Mark1 to fix that gap – to give growing businesses access to the same caliber of marketing strategy and leadership, but in a way that’s flexible and budget-friendly.

What Drives Me: I’m a marketer by trade, but an entrepreneur at heart. I love digging into business challenges, simplifying the complex, and seeing clients light up when the strategy clicks and the results follow. The greatest reward for me is hearing a client say, ‘Now we get marketing – and it’s actually delivering.’ When I’m not optimizing campaigns, you might find me researching what made great businesses great or experimenting with new marketing tactics. The term “live to work” often comes up when people describe me, and though that might be true, it’s the “why” that’s missing.

My Why: Why I do what I do is quite simple - legacy. Not for myself, but seeing other people’s legacy take flight and outlast them as they either pass their business down to the next generation, or sell it to live out their dreams. My own legacy lives with my family, where my two children get to see what hard work and commitment can accomplish and how helping others achieve their dreams helps shape yours.

Bottom line, any marketer can make the numbers “look good”, showing that they’re doing what they were hired to do. The reality is that there are not enough out there that truly understand business and the role that marketing truly plays…that’s to be a revenue and growth driving machine.

Even small revenue growth for some of these businesses, even just 10% YoY, changed the trajectory for their business forever.
